A compulsory fishing licence is required for fishing the lake issued free by the Southern Province services.
The lake Yaté is closed for fishing three months a year due to reproduction. Its closure is scheduled each year from September- 30th and its reopening is normally scheduled for January-1st.
Lure, bait and fly fishing are allowed from shore or from a boat. Trolling is strictly prohibited. Preserved catch are limited at five maximum per day and per angler.
